New York is the best city in the world; ranks first for the second consecutive year in Oxford Economics index.
New York: For the second consecutive year, New York City has retained the top spot in Oxford Economics’ Global Cities Index. The city achieved this milestone with a perfect score of 100. The ranking evaluated 1,000 cities around the world based on five key categories: economy, human capital, quality of life, environment, and governance.
While New York ranked first in the economic sector, it fell behind in governance and environmental categories. This index plays a crucial role in assessing cities' overall development and future potential. Other cities in the top five include London, Paris, San Jose, and Seattle. Notably, eight of the top 20 cities are from the United States, highlighting the country's strong presence in the index.
