Dr. Annie Paul Honored as “Rockland Person of the Year”

Rockland County, New York:
Dr. Annie Paul was honored with the prestigious “Rockland Person of the Year” award during the annual Achievement Week celebration held at Rockland Community College. The event was organized by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – C Lambda Lambda Chapter, along with its Achievement Week Committee, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and community service.

Dr. Paul, a Rockland County Legislator, was recognized for her continued commitment to public service, civic engagement, and advocacy for diverse communities. Her leadership has been widely acknowledged across the county, particularly for her efforts in promoting inclusivity, equity, and community development. The recognition also carries special significance for the Indian-American and Malayalee communities, as she represents growing diversity in public office.

Several elected officials, civic leaders, and community representatives attended the ceremony. Among those acknowledged were County Legislator Hon. Tony Earl and representatives associated with the NAACP, who commended Dr. Paul’s dedication and collaborative leadership.

In her acceptance remarks, Dr. Paul expressed gratitude to the organizers, community partners, family, and supporters who have stood alongside her throughout her journey. She noted that the award reflects the collective strength of the community and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the residents of Rockland County with integrity and compassion.
