The counting of votes for the local body by-elections is today.

The counting of votes for the local body by-elections in the state is taking place today. The counting will begin at various centers from 10 AM. The elections were held in 28 local wards.

Elections were also conducted in four wards across four local bodies, including the Sreevaraham ward in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

The by-election was held just months before the general elections for local self-governing bodies. The LDF, UDF, and NDA all conducted intense campaigns for the elections. A total of 87 candidates contested, of whom 52 were women. A total of 77 polling booths were set up for the election.
