Fell into an open well while playing with sisters; two-year-old girl dies

A two-year-old girl died after falling into an open well. The deceased has been identified as Arunima, daughter of Shaji and Sarala, from Kuruttumoodu, Thalachira, Malayalapuzha.

The incident occurred around 5 PM yesterday when Arunima was playing with her sisters in the courtyard of their rented house in Perumpetty. She accidentally fell into a nearby open well. Hearing the children's cries, neighbors rushed to the spot and rescued her, but she could not be saved despite being taken to the taluk hospital.

After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family.
