Pneumonia in both lungs; Pope Francis' health condition is critical
The Vatican has stated that Pope Francis' health condition is critical while he remains in the hospital. The Vatican Press Office announced that pneumonia has been detected in both of the Pope's lungs, leading to the cancellation of his scheduled events for the next week.
Pope Francis, who had been suffering from a respiratory infection for over a week, was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on February 14. A CT scan conducted on Tuesday afternoon confirmed the pneumonia diagnosis. Earlier, it was identified as a polymicrobial infection. The Vatican statement also mentioned that he is currently receiving specialized therapy for this condition.
