Grammys 2024: Shankar Mahadevan & Zakir Hussain’s Shakti’s first studio album won
Shakti’s “This Moment” album, released in June 2023, marks a significant milestone for the band, as it is their first studio album in over 45 years. The group comprises of founding member and guitarist John McLaughlin, percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram, and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan. Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain have also received critical acclaim for their exceptional musical collaboration.
The official announcement by the Recording Academy on its dedicated platform wrote, “Congrats Best Global Music Album winner – ‘This Moment’ Shakti. #GRAMMYs,” echoing the global applause for the remarkable achievement.
