Shri Sai Bhandara (Lord's Lunch)

Chicago IL: This is an annual event hosted by Shri Shirdi Sai Temple, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. This year we had an opportunity to conduct this event on Sunday, Oct 22,2023 and was a huge success. Food will be cooked at the temple and served to all members of the community irrespective of religion, color, sex and age. Sai Bhandara's compassionate and extraordinary endeavor to provide nourishing meals to our local heroes at the police stations and fire stations was nothing short of a heartwarming spectacle. As the aroma of the carefully prepared food wafted through the stations, it was as if a gust of happiness had swept through the premises.

The officers, often facing long and demanding shifts in their line of duty, were not just delighted but deeply moved by this act of Kindness. In the midst of their tireless commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community, these warm meals served as a tangible symbol of our collective appreciation.

As part of this initiative, this year, volunteers packed more than 100 boxes of food and were able to deliver food to the following stations.

1. Rolling Meadows Police Station.

2. Palatine Police Station

3. Arlington Heights Police Station

4. Mount Prospect Police Station

5. Hoffman Estates Police Station

6. Inverness Fire Station

7. Hoffman Estates Fire Station

As we reflect on this exceptional gesture, it serves as a reminder that sometimes, the simplest acts of kindness can have the most profound impact. Sai Bhandara's food delivery not only nourished bodies but also nourished spirits, fostering a sense of togetherness and appreciation within our community that will surely endure
